GLORY TO GOD!
“Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favour my righteous cause; and let them say continually,“Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant” (Psalm 35:27).
You may know or you may not know but thousands of people might have prayed for you. At the time of tribulation, God might have sent someone to pray for you and ensured protection for you. When Peter was in jail the congregation prayed for him earnestly and so the angel released him from the prison.
When I was three years old, a terrific viral fever attacked me and I was AT in the verge of death. An aged servant of God came to my home and pleaded to God for me for the whole night with tears. He never arose from kneeing until God healed me. This saved my life and mad me a servant of God too. Now, if I do not pray for others, will that not be seen as a sin?
Once, God greatly inspired me to pray for a sister involved in a ministry. I did not know that she was ill and was in the death bed. She said “I pleaded to God to send me a servant of God before I die. He has heard my prayer and has sent you to me.” I prayed for her. She blessed me whole heartedly and peacefully died after prophesising.
God never forgets the people who pray for the nation and its people. He endorses them specially and exalts them.
Abraham was a prayer warrior. When God came down to destroy Sodom and Gomorra, He had the burden that righteous in the city of Sodom and Gomorra should not perish along with the sinners. The LORD said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.”Further, God said “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.” Only after bringing out Lot the lone righteous man God destroyed Sodom and Gomorra.
In the Old Testament, Esther might have been a queen but she fasted for three days and three nights and pleaded for the Jews, the divine people in prayer. She entered the inner court of the King’s palace in the presence of the king. It is because of her prayer and pleading that the Jewish heredity was saved from total destruction. Dear children of God, if you do not pray, will that not be a sin against God? So pray earnestly.
Many missionaries in North India raise their voice saying “Brethren, pray for us” (1 Thessalonians 5:25). Pray God and thank Him for raising all the servants of God. Ancient churches prayed that way. Is it not?
To meditate: “By stretching out your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus” (Acts 4:30).
